Direct-to-Garment and Dye-Sublimation Guidelines

What to Bring

Your Design File: Bring a .PNG or .JPG file. Your design will be uploaded by a MakerSpace team member using the appropriate software for the machine.

Your Textile: You must supply the textile (shirt/hat/bag, etc.). Please note there are some restrictions to the equipment below:

  • Dye-sublimation only works on 100% polyester or dye-sublimation poly-coated mugs/blanks.
  • Xtool: prints on any color fabrics.

What to Know

Limitations: Manufacturing products for commercial use is prohibited and multiple copies must be approved by a team member. A team member must be present when using the equipment. Additional policies are listed on the Policies page.

Weekly Quotas:

  • Two prints per person per week.
    • BT-12: up to 8.5″x11″ area.
    • X-Tool: up to 10″x14″ area.
