Vinyl Project Guidelines
What to Bring for Vinyl Projects
Your Design File: Bring a .PNG or .JPG file. Your design will need to be edited using the appropriate software in-person at the MakerSpace. The Roland Vinyl Cutter GX-24 uses CutStudio while the Roland BN-20 Print & Cut machine uses VersaWorks. See a team member for assistance.
Your Materials: You must supply your own textile (e.g. apparel, fabric, cap, etc.) for iron-on projects. A limited selection of vinyl is available on-site. We recommend bringing an extra item in case of mistakes or reprints.
What to Know About Vinyl Projects
Limitations: Manufacturing products for commercial use is prohibited and multiple copies must be approved by a team member. A team member must be present when using this equipment. Please consider intellectual property laws and avoid making anything that could violate copyright. Additional policies can be found on the Policies page.
Weekly Usage Quotas:
- One Color Fashion Film/Iron On Limits: 12″x15″ area per person per week
- One Color Sticker Vinyl: 10″x20″ area per person per week
- Vinyl Print & Cut (BN-20): 10″x15″ area per person per week

Heat Press: DK20S Digital Swinger

- The DK20S Digital Swinger is a heat transfer press. With 70 programmable presets the Digital Swinger is ideal for label production. The press accommodates materials up to 2″ thick and has a digital temperature control of 32°F-600°F.
